What is SLAA?
Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous is a Twelve Step - Twelve Tradition oriented fellowship based on the model pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous.
One of the resources we draw on is our willingness to stop acting out in our own personal bottom line addictive behavior on a daily basis. In addition, members reach out to others in the fellowship, practice the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of S.L.A.A. and seek a relationship with a higher power to counter the destructive consequences of one or more addictive behaviors related to sex addiction, love addiction, dependency on romantic attachments, emotional dependency, and sexual, social and emotional anorexia. We find a common denominator in our obsessive, compulsive patterns which renders any personal differences of sexual or gender orientation irrelevant.
What can I do now?
There are several resources you can draw on.
- Call your local hotline. Ours in Connecticut is 860-656-6208
- Call your Sponsor
- Use some tools for recovery
- Connect with another SLAA member.
- Use the 12 Steps
- Connect with your higher power
- Use your Big Book
How is SLAA different from other methods of getting better?
How do I find a group?
Once you have identified you have a problem with sex and love addiction we invite you to call our hot line. A member will call you back to give you information about meetings and times.<p>
Meeting Lists for Connecticut are posted here.
We in SLAA take great care to protect the anonymity of members of SLAA. All regular meetings are closed to the public. There are many meetings in Connecticut to reach out to those still suffering from sex and love addiction. You can see how a meeting runs.
I live with a sex addict. what do I do?
There is a group for those who are not sex addicts but whose lives as friends, family or significant others have been affected by the addict. This program called COSLAA has Connecticut meetings. You may reach them at 860-456-0032, the current National Hotline for COSLAA. Please note that COSLAA does NOT accept sexual addicts to its meetings, only those who are affected by, live with or are relatives or friends of the sexual addict.
Meetings
There are meetings in many cities and states in the United States as well as world wide. Finding A Meeting in Connecticut is easy. The Connecticut Intergroup also carries links to other groups as well as links to our Fellowship Wide Services office.

Links and other S Groups
There are other groups which reach out to the suffering sex and love addict. As a whole SLAA has no opinion on these groups nor do we maintain connection with them. However, the Connecticut Intergroup recognizes the contribution of these groups to those still suffering from sex and love addiction.

Please remember that we as an organization can only list what we have. We assume no responsibility for these organizations nor their websites. The dates following the web sites are the last date of verification the link is working but is not a guarantee that the site is operational. SLAA maintains open channels through some of these groups through membership in the Interfellowship Forum, a meeting of various 'S' fellowships for mutual aid and understanding. No fellowship is promoted and there is no inference of special attachment other than membership in the forum. If your fellowship wishes to be listed here, please go to our links page for instruction.

Interfellowship Forum
The Interfellowship Forum (IFF) was formed to give Sexual Addiction groups a place to meet and exchange ideas. The ABM sponsors a Conference Committee called the Interfellowship Conference Committee. This Committee is responsible to the Fellowship and to you to bring our ideas and methods for healing from Sex and Love Addiction to those gatherings.
The forums meet annually to discuss issues of common interest to all of the fellowships. Most of these issues revolve around how best to reach out to the person who still suffers from sexual compulsion and addiction.
